Under contract with a confidential client, Baker provided oversight of the interconnection of three fiber optic cable facilities, traversing a route from Maryland and Pennsylvania and including eleven local municipalities. The route was selected after a feasibility study was completed that identified the route construction techniques and cost estimates.

The final 75-mile route, surveyed using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, was comprised of public, private, and existing underground facilities. Baker provided complete in-house outside plant engineering, permitting, right-of-way, and construction management and support services. Additionally, Baker was responsible for construction inspection and contractor oversight and monitoring, as well as coordination with local, regional, county, and state officials; coordination of settlements with property owners; ensuring environmental compliance and documenting all construction operations.
