In today’s engineering environment, the majority of firms are battling data management issues.  Baker has invested in Bentley’s engineering project team collaboration system called ProjectWise, which allows teams to manage, find and share CAD and geospatial content, project data and Microsoft Office documents, accurately and efficiently.

By implementing ProjectWise, Baker created an enterprise-level content management environment that has connected its project teams across offices and integrates seamlessly with its engineering and desktop applications. This has contributed to higher utilization and dramatically reduced relocation and travel expenses for the production teams.  The system was first used at Baker on the Ohio River Bridge Project (Kentucky Transportation Cabinet) in October 2005. ProjectWise has since played a major role in some of Baker’s largest and most complex projects, including the design-build reconstruction of I-15 NOW in Ogden, Utah.

ProjectWise has been implemented as part of Baker’s CADD Management Strategic Plan, which was nominated for a 2008 BE Award in two categories; “Attaining Return on Innovation” and “Connecting Project Teams.”
