Peter Pizzuco, P.E., has been named vice president of Baker Engineering NY, Inc., a subsidiary of Michael Baker Corporation (AMEX:BKR).
In this new position, Pizzuco will continue to serve as chief engineer and director of transportation for Baker´s New York office. He has more than 39 years of engineering experience in the design, design rehabilitation and construction of bridges, specifically with the City of New York. Having served in the New York City Department of Transportation for over 30 years prior to joining Baker, with his most recent role as Assistant Commissioner, Pizzuco has been responsible for the rehabilitation of various types of suspension, fixed and moveable bridges throughout the city, including the administration of the city´s $4 billion Bridge Rehabilitation Design Program. His accomplishments include having introduced the use of computers for engineering applications in a City Engineering Department and developing a computerized Bid Letting System for use by the Department of Transportation.
Pizzuco holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from New York University and is a licensed professional engineer in the states of New York and New Jersey. He is a member of the Municipal Engineers City of New York and American Engineering Alliance.
