Baker Energy Appoints Schneider to Business Development Team
HOUSTON  -  March 23, 2005

Baker Energy, a unit of Michael Baker Corporation (AMEX: BKR), recently announced that Phil Schneider has joined its domestic business development team. Schneider, who will be based in the company´s Houston office, will manage business development activities in the Houston and Dallas area for Baker´s Gulf of Mexico (GOM) labor operations business. Schneider will focus his efforts on maintaining and strengthening Baker´s leading position in the GOM, where the company is the largest operations and maintenance contractor in the GOM´s deepwater.

“Phil spent the past several years working closely with clients in the Gulf of Mexico labor industry, so he comes to Baker with the knowledge and experience that will continue to allow our business to grow there,” said Steve Roan, vice president of Baker´s Lafayette operations. “Phil has strong relationships within the operations industry in Texas that complement Baker´s current client base and represent potential growth opportunities with clients who do not have an established history of working with Baker in the Gulf of Mexico,” Roan said.

Mr. Schneider brings to Baker more than 28 years of experience with companies offering products and services to oil and gas producers along the Gulf Coast and in major onshore markets in New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Wyoming. Schneider holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University.
