ARLINGTON, Texas – September 15, 2009 Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE Amex:BKR), is pleased to announce that Terrace W. Stewart, P.E., has joined Baker as regional director of Municipal Water/Wastewater Services. In this role, Stewart will be responsible for business development and client relations in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area. Additionally, he will manage the new Baker Municipal Water/Wastewater office in Dallas scheduled to open this fall. Baker currently has two other office locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area – Arlington and Denton.

Stewart previously served as vice president and director of business development for MWH Americas, Inc. During his tenure, MWH enhanced its standing as a major player in the Texas engineering market and the firm grew its backlog to approximately $6 million.
During his more than thirty years of experience, Stewart has served as director of Dallas Water Utilities (DWU), general manager of United Water Services in Atlanta, and director of operations for United Water Laredo. While also serving as DWU director, he was appointed chairman of the Region C Water Planning Group for the state of Texas. He provided executive leadership in crafting the first regional water plan that considered the needs of 16 counties in the North Texas area.
Stewart holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, is a professional engineer in the state of Texas, and is affiliated with the American Water Works Association (AWWA), Water Environment Federation (WEF), Regional Dallas Chamber Water Council, and the SMU Engineering Board.
