Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE Amex:BKR), is pleased to welcome Anthony (A.J.) Widacki, P.E., as assistant vice president, office principal and Transportation Department manager in Baker’s Houston, Texas, office.  He will be responsible for managing and mentoring the Houston office staff and providing technical, business development and project management support. 

“With the addition of A.J. to our Houston staff, we expect great things from our Houston office,” said Don Treude, vice president.  “His experience on complex infrastructure projects will benefit our clients with an increase in the level of service we provide on their most challenging transportation planning and design projects.”

Widacki brings nearly 30 years of transportation planning, design and construction experience to Baker.  He also has five years of experience in the oil and gas industry on the engineering and construction side. He has interstate highway and toll road planning and design experience, expertise in major and minor roadway design, roadway schematics, storm sewer design, signing and pavement marking, illumination, traffic signals, stormwater pollution prevention, construction sequencing and traffic control plans.  For the past 14 years, he has been responsible for project management and the overall technical responsibilities for a variety of contracts involving toll roads, transit centers, transportation planning and engineering, drainage, public utilities, site development and construction-phase services.

Widacki holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas.
