Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE Amex: BKR), is proud to announce that Richard Hergenroeder, P.E., program manager for environmental restoration services, in Bakerís Harrisburg, Pa., office, has been named a Fellow of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).

Richard has more than 30 years experience in waste, remediation, wastewater, air, geotechnical and architectural projects. Prior to joining Baker, he directed the environmental engineering department of one of the nationís largest hazardous waste disposal firms and directed community affairs for the nationís largest energy-from-waste firm. Richard has saved the industry and the public hundreds of millions of dollars through leadership before state legislatures and with regulatory agencies. He holds Bachelorís and Masterís Degrees in Civil Engineering from Drexel University, as well as a Masterís Degree in Administration from Johns Hopkins University. He is a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and currently serves as treasurer of the SAME New Jersey Postís scholarship fund. He was presented with the Regional Vice Presidentís Medal in 2008 for his outstanding contributions to SAME.
SAME bestows the designation of Fellow to SAME members who have rendered dedicated and outstanding service to SAME and to military engineering. This group of distinguished individuals was organized into the Academy of Fellows to bring all Fellows together to further SAMEís missions and goals.
