PITTSBURGH – May 24, 2012

WTS International has honored Michael Baker Jr., Inc., a unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE MKT:BKR) with its prestigious Employer of the Year recognition.

Forty Baker employees are Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) members representing 16 different chapters – and approximately 40 percent of them hold leadership positions.  Baker has financially sponsored all 16 chapters in varying degrees, as well as offered its marketing, graphic design and administrative time and materials for various chapter needs.  Baker was supportive in founding several of the WTS chapters, including San Antonio, Northeast Ohio and Utah. 

In addition to winning the WTS 2012 award for Employer of the Year, Michael Baker Corporation has been honored at the chapter level by Greater NY (2006), Atlanta (2007), Colorado (2010), Connecticut Valley (2011), and Central Pennsylvania (2011) as Employer of the Year.  Baker employee Colleen Turner has been recognized as WTS Baltimore Member of the Year (2011).  In the last decade, at least four Baker employees have been selected to attend the prestigious WTS Leadership Program, and Baker has consistently attended every WTS annual conference.
