Michael Baker Jr., Inc., a unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE MKT:BKR) is pleased to announce that James ”JT” Taylor has joined Baker as director of Health and Safety. JT comes to Baker after serving 25 years in the aerospace industry most recently serving as senior corporate safety staff with United Space Alliance.
In his new role, he is responsible for the leadership of the safety program, development and implementation of policies, procedures, programs and tools to ensure compliance with regulations and policies in a way that leads to a safe and injury-free work environment. He will coordinate health and safety audit programs including corrective action plan tracking – both internal and external - as well as develop and implement effective safety training programs including fall protection, OSHA construction and new hire training. He will also provide functional expertise and strategic direction to achieve Baker’s vision of an accident-free workplace and establish a high standard of behavior for all employees and managers that are reinforced through feedback and coaching.

Taylor holds a Master of Business Administration in Aviation Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Safety from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and an active member of the American Society of Safety Professionals.
